I'm getting about 1 more MPG and their holding the on and off ramps at twice the speed limit. They also impressed me when needing to stop on a dime in a thunderstorm. I do get over 100 inches a snow a year so I hoping for some good traction. I travel about 55k a year so I will let you know on tread wear Was this review helpful? The ENVigors have a stiffer sidewall and are sensitive to tire pressure. 40 PSI in he tire was unbearable, but 34 PSI is fine as it provides a firm and sporty ride. The tires grip the road well and provide good steering feedback. On concrete roads however, there is some tramlining. Noise levels from the tires are low and about on-par with the Continentals. Impact harshness is, as expected from a performance tire, a bit higher. On moderate cornering however, you can hear the tread noise from the outside rib of the tire as a "hum." The ENVigor is marketed as providing superior fuel economy to other tires in its class. I expected (probably mistakenly) that the Continentals were a peer. In my hybrid, I was disappointed to see that I consistently lost 4 - 6 mpg with the ENVigors. Evidence of increased rolling resistance could be seen on my instantaneous MPG display. PreviouslyI could hold the meter in the higher end of the MPG band (50-60 mpg) on level highway. With the ENVigors, I struggle to keep it in the 30-40 mpg band. Where I would average 37.8 mpg average per tank of highway driving previously, I am only able to average 32.1 mpg now. Overall, I think these are great tires if fuel mileage is a secondary consideration. I'm fairly certain that they'll provide equal if not better fuel mileage versus other performance tires. But if you're looking for a tire that blends fuel economy as a first priority with performance as a secondary consideration (e.g. Hybrid vehicls out there), this tire isn't for you. Follow-up Review, 2,700 Miles on Tires August 28, 2010 I am very impressed with this tire and struggled on a decision to replace them under Yokohama's 30 day trial period. In the end, I decided to replace them with the Continental ProContact with ECO Plus since fuel mileage is major consideration on my hybrid with my 172 mile round-trip commute. Final evaluation: These are great tires and I'm convinced the fuel mileage is on-par or better than its peers while delivering strong performance. In fact, I'm so impressed with these tires, I'm buying a set for my wife's Nissan Murano (where fuel mileage is less of a concern, but tread noise and ride comfort are a major concern.) The difference was night and day between the stock Bridgestones that came on the car. These tires produce an extremely smooth ride, have excellent grip on wet and dry pavement and are reasonably priced. I cannot comment yet on treadwear...only 500 miles. So far very impressed with this tire. Was this review helpful? Registered users can answer "yes" or "no." Great center feel and responsiveness. Grip is excellent both wet and dry. Ride is very smooth considering it is a high performance tire. Only 1000 miles so cannot comment on treadware. However, I have definitely noticed at least a small increase in fuel efficiency. All around a great tire to this point, and quite handsome as well. Was this review helpful? This all season tire has very good road manners and good traction in the wet and dry plus has a quiet and comfortable ride. I replaced a set of Latitude sport, a fabulous (and very expensive) performance tire which suffers from a very short tread life and which becomes very annoyingly loud after 50% of tread. The avid envigor cannot match those tires in ultimate performance capabilities but do offer excellent performance in all but "racing" level conditions. Compared to the regular Michelin latitude tires, I would say they offer similar or better performance (particularly in the wet) are quieter and cost a lot less. . I haven't used them in the snow, but I don't expect them to be worse than the Latitude which were pretty dismal. After the first season I bought snow tires. So unless they are better than the latitude alpin, they shouldn't see a lot of snow action. Strongly recommended for MDX owners Was this review helpful? Registered users can answer "yes" or "no." Honda has 123,000 and this is the 3rd set of tires. The first two sets were Michelins which performed satisfactorily. Compared Michelins, Bridgestone and Yokohama. Selected Yokohama Envigor because of price, new design, and mfg in USA (per Tire Rack web site). First impression are very good. More to follow. Follow-up Review, 1,000 Miles on Tires August 09, 2010 Amazing tires! Responsiveness is top notch especially in the wet. You do get a little road feel but that is offset by the improved performance. The Honda is more fun to drive with the Yokohama's.
